Shrek, now a domesticated ogre, is tired of his mundane life. He yearns for the days when he was feared and respected. Rumpelstiltskin, a mischievous fairy tale character, offers Shrek a deal: one day of his life as a fearsome ogre in exchange for his firstborn child. Desperate for a change, Shrek agrees, but the deal backfires. He finds himself in an alternate reality where he never met Fiona, Donkey is a talking horse, and he is the hunted ogre. Shrek must now find a way to reverse the spell and restore his happily ever after.
